Notepad ++ is a free (both “free speech” and “free beer”) source code editor and Notepad replacement that supports multiple languages. Works in MS Windows environment, its use is regulated by the GPL license.
Based on the powerful Scintilla editing component, Notepad ++ is written in C ++ and uses pure Win32 API and STL for faster execution speed and smaller program size. By optimizing as many routines as possible without sacrificing user friendliness, Notepad ++ tries to reduce the world’s carbon dioxide emissions. By using less power, the CPU of the PC can slow down and reduce power consumption, resulting in a greener environment.
