* Psoriasis is an incurable autoimmune disease that causes plaques and lesions on the skin. Psoriasis is caused, at least in part, by the immune system mistakenly attacking healthy skin cells. If you're sick or battling an infection, your immune system will go into overdrive to fight the infection. This might start another psoriasis flare-up. Strep throat is a common trigger. Stress is a common trigger for a psoriasis flare. When symptoms develop on toenails and fingernails, they can resemble nail fungus. However, fungal infections are contagious, and psoriasis is not.
* Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease. The pancreas can't make insulin because the immune system attacks it and destroys the cells that produce insulin. For decades, doctors and researchers believed that Type 2 diabetes was a metabolic disorder. This type of disorder occurs when your body's natural chemical processes don't work properly. Recent research suggests that Type 2 diabetes may actually be an autoimmune disease. Even well-controlled diabetics are immunocompromised to a degree. People with autoimmune disease aren't typically considered immunocompromised, unless they take certain medications that slow down their immune system.
* Common autoimmune diseases include Rheumatoid arthritis, Hashimoto's autoimmune thyroiditis, Diabetes, Pernicious anemia/atrophic gastritis, Alopecia areata.
* Multiple Sclerosis is considered an immune-mediated disease —perhaps autoimmune.

* Online travel company ixigo was born in 2007 as a meta-search site for flights. In 2011, MakeMyTrip (MMT) invested $4.8 million in ixigo. In 2019, ixigo started selling its own tickets. Earlier this year, it facilitated a bumper 8X exit for MMT. MMT, ixigo and EaseMyTrip are multi-modal online travel aggregators (OTAs) broadly covering air, rail and bus ticketing, and hotel bookings. MMT listed on US exchange Nasdaq in August 2010. In its 11-year history, MMT has built size and clout in the Indian online travel space, but it has not delivered profits or shareholder returns. EaseMyTrip’s focus is air tickets. In 2019-20, 94% of its revenues came from flight tickets. ixigo sees rail and road, and not air, as its pathway to growth. MMT, the goliath in Indian online travel with a 60% share, owns RedBus, the leader in online bus ticketing in India. Ixigo acquired Hyderabad-based AbhiBus in August, 2021 and Confirm Ticket, a train utility and booking platform in February. Of the 100 million journeys Indians make each day, 70% are road and 24% by train. There is 65% overlap between bus and rail routes, suggesting a good user experience can encourage substitutability. - Mint
